Laserjet Toner Cartridge Storage Tips
When it comes to storing your Laserjet toner cartridge the following article will provide you with some useful tips. It is very economical to purchase replacement cartridges in bulk, but if you don’t properly store your ink cartridges they can lose their quality over time and even go bad. This article will provide you with helpful tips on properly storing your LaserJet toner cartridge.
1. A Laserjet toner cartridge is sensitive to light, temperature, and humidity. All of these conditions must be taken into account when storing your toner cartridge. Store your cartridge in a room between 32 and 95 degrees and make sure that the humidity is between 35 to 85 percent. Obviously the trunk of you car would be a poor place to keep a toner cartridge for an extended period of time.
2. Keep your cartridge stored in the original protection bag that it comes with. This will protect it from light and from particles that can ruin the cartridge and from direct sunlight. Direct sunlight will damage the cartridge and may cause blurred printing. If your printer is consistently printing out blurred pages then your cartridge has probably been damaged from sunlight. A dark cabinet is always the best place to store cartridges.
3. Be careful not to suddenly drop or shake your cartridge. These movements can contribute to the breaking of small parts inside of the cartridge that can cause it to leak. Don’t try to manually rotate the print drum either, this can also result in a toner spill.
4. Store your toner cartridge right side up, not laying down on its side. Over time this may result in a cartridge that can leak. Keep the cartridge protected from dust and debris making sure that you are extra careful with the very delicate drum.
